Due to the changes in people's leisure styles and ideas, this year more people choose to travel abroad to spend their Spring Festival holiday. The way of travel breaks through the habit of concentrated travel in the first half of the previous holiday, and still maintains the travel abroad in the second half of the holiday. The upsurge, the total number of Chinese citizens leaving the country on the last day of the long holiday reached the highest number of 1750 person-times.

In the 2010 Spring Festival holiday, Chinese citizens' tourist destinations have also changed from Hong Kong, Macao and South Korea to Hong Kong and Macao, Taiwan, Thailand and South Korea. Due to the improvement of cross-strait relations and the opening of charter flights to Taiwan, the “Taiwanese fever” continued to increase. During the Spring Festival, the number of tourists to Taiwan increased significantly. During the Spring Festival holiday in 2010, the number of mainland residents who traveled to Taiwan increased from 260 in 2009 to nearly 1,100. The growth is about 4 times. In stark contrast to the "Taiwan fever", the number of tourists to Hong Kong and Macao has decreased. The number of tourists to Hong Kong and Macao during the Spring Festival this year has dropped from 2,170 last year to 930. In addition, since the holiday trip to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand during the Spring Festival has become the first choice for many Chinese families, the number of tourists to Thailand has increased from more than 90 in the 2009 Spring Festival to more than 750, an increase of more than 8 times.

In response to the substantial increase in Chinese citizens' overseas travel during the Spring Festival holiday in 2010, Qingdao Liuting International Airport has a total of more than 40 charter flights during the Spring Festival holiday period, an increase of more than 20 flights over the same period of last year, and changed all the charter flights for Hong Kong and Macao last year.
